What do padel socks need on artificial turf?

On sandy artificial turf, a padel sock needs to keep the foot locked in the shoe during lateral lunges and pivots, protect the skin from grit that gets into the shoe, cushion hard landings after smashes, and stay fresh through long evening sessions.

What sandy turf does to your feet

• Partial slides. The sand lets your shoe slide slightly on lunges, so your foot pushes against the side of the shoe.
• Grit in the shoe. Fine sand finds its way in and adds abrasion where the sock meets the shoe.
• Pivots. Víboras, bandejas and fast turns twist the foot inside the shoe.
• Hard landings. Smashes end with a landing on the forefoot and heel.
